 PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Environmental Resources Group, LLC. (ERG) provided compliance services including the development of compliance strategy and plans for the Regal Recycling (Regal) auto parts facility in Howell, Michigan and the facility that operates in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. 

In addition, ERG performed real estate due diligence and Brownfield services for the Brownfield redevelopment of a former landfill. This site is utilized as a scrap metal recycling and reclamation facility by Regal. The due diligence services provided during the Brownfield redevelopment of the former landfill site included a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), a Phase II ESA, a Due Care Plan and a Baseline Environmental Assessment (BEA). 

ERG prepared Integrated Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), Pollution Incident Prevention, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for each of the two sites located in Howell and Whitmore Lake. In addition, ERG prepared Pollution Incident Prevention Plans (PIPPs) for these sites in accordance with the requirements of Michigan, Public Act 451 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA). 

Other than the regulatory plan preparations, ERG provided compliance monitoring services to Regal. The compliance monitoring services included development of appropriate strategies to comply with Federal and State storm water regulations, implementation of Best Management Practices (BMP)’s to eliminate pollutants entering storm water, inspections, sampling and training services to assist Regal with regulatory compliance.
