Soil & Groundwater Investigations

ERG realizes that site investigations can become very costly if not conducted in a targeted manner, considering site characteristics, contaminants of concern, and affected media. We complete soil and groundwater assessments as part of a cost effective plan to determine the extent of impact, identify migration pathways, and develop a conceptual site model.

ERG's remediation professionals’ experience with numerous projects enables them to determine the most appropriate technologies to deliver efficient and cost effective results.

Real Estate Assessment & Due Diligence

Avoiding Liability concerns related to potential contamination and intended land use makes it critical to understand the condition of a property prior to acquisition, development, refinancing or rezoning. The first step in solving any environmental problem requires gathering information to correctly characterize the site. This involves focusing on soil and groundwater conditions, chemical distribution and behavior, as well as regulatory requirements and options.

Vapor Intrusion Remediation and Mitigation

Vapor intrusion (VI) occurs when there is a migration of vapor-forming chemicals from any subsurface source into an overlying building. In extreme cases, the vapors may accumulate in dwellings or occupied buildings to levels that may pose near-term safety hazards (e.g., explosion) and/or acute health effects (e.g., headaches, nausea, itchy eyes, throat irritation).
